ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
2016 - 2022
UTS has allowed me to succeed in the engineering areas that matter most to me, such as achieving High distinctions in subjects such as Mechanical Design Studio, heat transfer and dynamics and control, to name a few.
The most significant value that I have learned and achieved through my success at UTS was the ability to transfer the academic literature and theoretical knowledge and be able to apply this understanding to practical projects. I learnt that this was best accomplished by reducing a problem to its simplest form and progressively building on this fundamental idea to bring together a cohesive and intuitive solution. Examples such as this provided valuable experiences with its hands-on approach to engineering and work placement collaboration. I have gained a new mechanism for my engineering toolbox with each subject and will strive in the future to continue to learn.
MECHANICAL DESIGN
Mechanical Design 1 was a subject that had a strong emphasis on Solidworks. I designed a paper box to hold a phone using a sheet metal technique in this subject, scoring me a high distinction mark.

Furthermore, I designed a steel structure using weldments to which was used to hold a steel pallet, scoring me a Distinction mark. A drawing of this structure can be found within the following link.
EGG-LOK
The Egglok was a creation designed in one of my subjects Mechanical Design 2, where I was responsible for simulating various damping materials to reduce the vibrations on NSW railways. I was able to justify mechanical damping of 12% due to the shape and material utility found in the design.

This product was developed on an already existing design that was failing to reduce the noise of Sydney trains, causing discomfort for the passengers and the surrounding residents. Further improvements to the vibration isolation also meant that the trains required less maintenance as the excessive motion of the rails was diminished.
This Product was delivered to the client and a presentation that justified the design choices. The client was pleased with the outcome, offering employment for myself and a few other key members of the group.
