SUSTAINABLE HEALTH DELIVERY, TECHNOLOGIES & GENDER IN TIMOR-LESTE
Engineers Without Borders
In mid-2018, I embarked on a 2-week design summit in Timor Leste. I expanded my humanitarian engineering skills and developed the need for sustainable design within all engineering aspects.

During my trip, I liaised with community stakeholders such as local schools and council members on sustainable projects, where I was fortunate to learn what a day in the life of a Timor Leste resident entails- building report and further learning of the culture. This was important as it helped me understand the relationship between cultural awareness and engineering design.
I built sustainable rubbish bins fabricated from local resources to aid in the disposal of litter throughout rural villages of Timor, which was presented to local communities to which my design was well received.
